Sweet Jewels

Got together with my friend Tori (and if you haven't checked out her blog you should! :) she is super crafty and creative! Tiny Bits Of Something) for an evening of homemade pizza and crafting. We decided to do a challenge and went with Case Study Challenge #141.

Here is the inspiration:

Here is my take on it, a mixture of jewels and then I used Sweet Stamp Shop's  "Kiss Me" set and stamped the sentiment "Sweet":

Have a great Sunday

Wedding Bells

Whoa it has been scorching hot here in S. Cali, my phone said it was upper 90's yesterday with the "real feel"  in the 100's!!! Yikes! Well anyways, hope everyone is enjoying their spring weather wherever you are.

It is definitely getting into that time of year when it is weddings galore, so I used that as my inspiration for this card. I had been eye-ing some Teresa Collins borders at work for some time and decided it was time to get them and they worked perfect for this card. Just layered them up added a SRM sticker for the sentiment and finished off with a touch of ribbon for added dimension.

Have a great day and happy crafting

Birthday 'Stache

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Hope your week has been going fabulous...

I decided to mess around with my distress inks, I just love the seasonal ink pads from Tim Holtz. They are so bright and vibrant and so different then the rest of his inks. I didn't have any thing in mind when creating this and wound up making a birthday card. I had the perfect numbers to match the ink colors (Lemonade, Cut Grass, and Peacock).

Here is the "Birthday Stache" card!

Just add a little money to the inside and you are sure to please anyone ;)

Have a wonderful day!

Adventures Of A VIntage Girl

I originally created this book to do as a class but, I got really carried away and in the end it ended up being put up as a sample in the store. It would have been a really expensive and very LONG class.

I was so happy with the results of the book. I am pocket girl, and I love vintage things, this book is sooo me lol. I sewed all the pages together so they are actually pockets that you can put pictures or treasures of sorts in and we had the perfect stand to display it on at work from 7Gypsies (their photo display stand)
Here is a peek at what it looks like:

 Some of the inside pages

I love to use Tim Holtz stains on my wood pieces, they just add so much and you can get them in a bunch of different colors.

 Hope you enjoyed.

Thanks for joining me again and will see you next time!

Unfortunate Miss

I do not know how this did not make it onto my blog LAST MONTH!!!! WHAT?!?!? WAIT...it is May now huh??? :( sorry this was from March eeekkkkk!!!!

It was a crazy month or so, with the announcement of our store closing and then breaking news to customers it has been a bit crazy...but, now that it is all calming down and me reflecting, I realized I TOTALLY forgot and I apologize.

I did some more guest design work for Sweet Stamp Shop at the end of March. Click HERE to see the post on "Sweets" blog.

Here are a few of the cards I made for the release...

An Apple A Day

Good Morning All,

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Season I was inspired to create some cards with the apple theme.

I am loving all the twine that is available these days, it makes creating a cinch! I knew I wanted to include it in my card, it is so versatile (heck, people are now knitting and crocheting with it) and fun to work with.

I knew I wanted the apple to make a statement, something big and bold and the main focus. I drew an apple shape on a piece of chipboard and cut it out. I then  grabbed that twine out and started with the red and white (The Twinery Twine) and wrapped my apple shape all up in twine. I then got out the brown and white (Maya Road) and wrapped the stem and use the green and white (The Twinery Twine) for the leaves. Popped it on some kraft paper and a little bling to frame it all in and voila!

The next card is perfect to give a little gift card in it. Again the apple was the focus, but went with a different approach, a half apple that I papered with a fun apple paper from October Afternoon, added a little SRM sentiment.
Have a wonderful day everyone!!!

Whale Of A Day

Hello, Hello, Hello Everyone!!!

Yesterday was FANTASTIC!!! Not only did we get in 11 NEW paper collections at work SRM started their Design Team Call.

I was a drooling mess all day at work, I wanted it ALL, but sadly that is NOT in my budget so I decided upon three pieces of paper {I had cpl bucks in my wallet itching to be spent ;)} all from Echo Park a whale paper, dots, and a "cut aparts". I was so excited to get home and make something.

I decided to go with a party theme...baby, birthday, shower...keeping it along those lines and this is what I came up with...
I made two cards, a little goodie bag and a candy treat. The papers were from Echo Parks Bundle of Joy Baby Boy line.
I love that even though this was from the boy line you could easily use it for girls...and tell me, is that not the cutest paper ever!?!?! I am so in love with those whales, so happy and cheerful!
Ever since the glassine bags were released from SRM I have been hooked!!! To add some extra texture I embossed the glassine bag and then added my paper and fussy cut a whale to add a little pop. I also put a little 3D Crystal Lacquer on him.

I am telling you, I just cannot get enough of this paper! It paired so nicely with the dots and the kraft. Add a little hint of twine and then pop a sentiment on. AHHH makes me happy :)

I wasn't sure about this one at first I kept layering and layering papers but, I have to say I am so pleased with the way it turned out. I didn't add the whale to this one but the dots are so to cute too I had to make one last card. The natural twine was the perfect accent to add since it had so many other colors going on it helped to bring a little balance to the card. AND I couldn't resist I popped a little of the SRM sticker stitches to the yellow patterned paper.

Hope you enjoyed!!
